When I was elected in 2017 I promised to keep everyone up to date on my activities as local Councillor. This blog provides a regular overview and together with my Ward colleagues we report back on our work as local representatives through our Ward of Cheap report.

This is the first report after the election of our new Alderman Robert Hughes-Penney. In this report we feedback on key issues we have taken the lead on as a team over the last few months.

For example as Deputy Chairman of the Transport and Planning Committee, Alastair is spearheading a new transport strategy for the Square Mile. And as a member of the Police Committee Nick and I continue to work hard to ensure the City Police is responsive to local community needs. Nick chairs the Economic Crime Board, and I joined a new Committee bringing together agencies to end rough sleeping in the City as Deputy Chairman.

We are also proud to support increased action to promote diversity in the City – for example I was succesful together with other colleagues for the City to establish a new working group to get more women and diverse range of candidates standing for local elections, and represented the City Corporation at London Pride this summer.
