During Mental Health Awareness Week 2017, the Lord Mayor’s Appeal is raising awareness of the Green Ribbon Campaign to help #endthestigma of mental health. It’s been great to see green ribbons popping up in the City.
The stigma of mental health is a huge issue in organisations, and for individuals, and the City wants to help address this by asking businesses and City workers to:
- Create a visible movement of support for ending the stigma
- Show those struggling that there is support and they are not alone
- Demonstrate the level of support for this issue in their organisation
- Encourage people to share their story and to create an inclusive cultures workplace
The green ribbon has a simple, but powerful, message: Together we can #endthestigma.
Over one hundred organisations, including the Bank of England, Metro Bank, Barclays and Unilever, are taking part in the campaign amounting to over 50,000 employees wearing green ribbons.
